The Japanese are dog crazy. I see all sorts of mangy little poofdogs strolling around Hiroo. Most of the time their owners have outfitted them with ridiculous “dog clothes” (sweaters, hats, hair accessories, blinking lights).
But what I saw yesterday took the cake. A Japanese dog owner, after picking up her miniature dachshund’s crap off the street, took out a little rag and wiped the dog’s butt.
Yuck

Fortunately I’m very interested in Japan, the culture, the history, and the language, so I’ve found this to be a great read.
